About HUIT

HUIT's greatest asset is its people. HUIT staff work in a variety of technical and administrative roles, including on-campus and flexible positions, with opportunities for development and connection to a community of IT professionals across the University.

Our organization is structured into technical and administrative teams known as service areas. Each group collaborates with other HUIT teams and our partners across the University to deliver technologies, support, and expertise.

Service areas

Academic Technology

University-wide technology to support teaching and learning, including enterprise learning platforms, consultation on innovative uses of technology such as AI, pedagogical tools, software development, classroom support, and faculty use of research computing.

Administration & Finance

Oversees internal HUIT administrative functions as well as delivers University-wide IT engagement, education, events, and training opportunities, including IT Summit, IT Academy, and HUIT web resources and newsletters.

Administrative Technology

Enterprise administrative systems encompassing finance, HR, research administration and compliance, alumni affairs, student information systems, reporting and analytics, business process redesign, and robotic process automation.

Client Services

IT support services including direct help desk support, desktop and walk-in support, device deployment, web services, IT products, business relationship management, IT communications, and IT service management.

Information Security, Data Privacy, and Digital Accessibility

Protection of Harvard’s information assets, strengthening of the University’s trustworthiness as a steward of personal data, and furthering the University’s technology accessibility.

Library Technology Services

Support for Harvard Library systems and the transformation of library services to advance research, teaching, and learning.

Research Computing and Data

Coordinates research services across schools, development and execution of research computing strategy, and development of environments supporting regulated data and research data services.

Technology Partner Services

Provides core University infrastructure, including network, cloud technologies, identity and access management, email and phone, and enterprise architecture.
