Update on Harvard OpenScholar migration to the new HarvardSites Drupal platform
We're pleased to share that the work to migrate Harvard OpenScholar websites to the new HarvardSites Drupal platform is well underway and will continue through August 2025. HarvardSites Drupal is a modern web platform that offers flexible design templates and adheres to University standards on security and accessibility. You can see some examples of migrated websites here.
Within the next few months, site owners and administrators will be contacted by HUIT or their School with information about:
- When their website is scheduled to be migrated.
- How the website migration process works, and what they’ll need to do before, during, and after.
- Training and help resources for our new HarvardSites web platforms.
Site owners and administrators can begin preparing for their site’s migration now by:
- Removing old or unnecessary content from their existing site, and ensure that the site’s owner(s) and members are up-to-date.
- Attending an upcoming training or office hours session to learn more about the new platform and ask questions of the HUIT web publishing team.
You can find more detailed information on the migration project, including what to expect and how to prepare, on our project website. And you can get more information or help by submitting a ticket to HUIT.
