# New feature for Outlook: Microsoft 365 email aliases can now be used as “send-as” addresses

Microsoft 365 email aliases have long been used to receive emails for multiple email addresses in a single inbox. Aliases may be created when an individual changes their name, moves into another department, or other circumstance that requires an email address change.

Now Microsoft 365 users with email aliases can send messages as those aliases, in addition to receiving incoming messages. Sent email will appear to come from the alias address when it is delivered to the recipient. To send a message using an email alias, [follow these instructions](https://harvard.service-now.com/ithelp?id=kb_article&sys_id=4c254e8293d992504567b1fd1dba100f).
