# Slack connector enabled for ChatGPT and Claude

October 28, 2026

You can now connect Slack to ChatGPT or Claude to search and reference Slack conversations directly within either AI tool.

Once connected, you can use ChatGPT or Claude to:

- **Catch up on discussions:** Summarize lengthy conversations and project updates.
- **Identify action items:** Find tasks, responsibilities, and follow-up items.
- **Find context:** Locate past discussions to understand how and why decisions were made.
- **Draft updates:** Use Slack information to prepare project updates, meeting notes, or reports.

The connection only gives ChatGPT or Claude access to Slack content you already have permission to view. It does not grant access to workspaces or conversations you haven’t joined. These integrations are approved for use with Harvard data up to and including [Level 3 confidential data](https://privsec.harvard.edu/data-classification-table).
